The BAM Group was one of the first corporate entities to provide humanitarian relief to the internally displaced fellow Sri Lankans in the North. On 15th May 2009, the BAM team led by HR Director Pradeepa Kekulawala, under the guidance of Chairman Mr. B.A.Mahipala visited the zone-03 of Manic Farm – IDP camp in Chettikulam, Vavnia with 5000 packs of sarongs , T - shirts and skirts. The sarongs were donated by each of our 5000 strong workforce and staff. The items were donated by us - visiting and mingling with people and spending a day with them looking into their needs . We went with the message “WE ARE ALWAYS WITH YOU” and made an indelible positive impression on the hearts and mind of our northern brethren... >> See More WE BELIEVE THAT SERVICE TO HUMANITY IS THE BEST WORK OF LIFE !
Children
Our core values and ideology
Children are at the heart of our business. Everything we create revolves around them. Our core value comes from realizing that children are our future. We are here to make them happy and meet their needs.
Children are the backbone of a society and as a responsible corporate citizen we make concentrated efforts to ensure they benefit in the long run
BAM is establishing a day care centre for the children of our staff at the Ranna factories and also present scholarships for further education for the children of our staff members.
Children our future
Mother Earth our sustenance
Creativity our strength
Health
Environment
Our first CSR project was the donation of a complete new general hospital complex in 3 stages to the people of Homagama. This is a 100 million project. And is due to complete in 2010. In 2007 to mark World's Chirldren's Day the donation of an ICU for children at the Homagama Hospital at rupees 5 Million was pledged and is in progress
To sustain children, we must sustain all sources of life. Mother earth must be nurtured at all costs so that our children have a future to look forward to. This is why we have many green initiatives as well as energy conservation projects within our production process which we have also passed down to every employee to practice at home as well. A formal green friendly programme has already been launched taking this vision forward and making us good citizens in society as well as in the international arena.
BAM also have recognition schemes for green friendly activity and support garbage recycling efforts
With all this in mind, it is no surprise that BAM’s move to number one is an achievable goal. We will get there the right way, and put a smile on every face we touch from our staff to customers, our partners and shareholders and hopefully every little child who wears something we’ve produced. We don’t produce garments – we create little smiles!
